The big big BIG list of famous quotations
All there is here are the many, many quotes I have encountered whilst listening and reading, online and offline.
I have sorted the quotes list alphabetically but beyond that there is little organisation and no attribution of the quotes. If that is important to you there are many other quotation sites that have attributed lists of quotes, though they may not have as big a list of quotes as I have here - have a look around - enjoy!
I occasionally update the big list of quotations when I come across another quote that I enjoy, and that is my criteria for inclusion, - so check back and be sure to bookmark - then you'll be able to find the big big BIG list of quotations the next time you need it.
Ok, I'm asked, and I quote, "Who said that!?"
The way for you to answer that question for yourself is to do your research. A simple way would be to copy and paste the whole quotation here into your favourite search engine, this would give you a pretty good idea of who is attributed as the originator of that particular quote.
When you can't find the information you need online, it does happen, then you will need to search offline. Now, don't panic.... a library is a safe place and they even have Internet terminals if you get stressed out by being surrounded by all those books. You might start by looking in the The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations - Elizabeth Knowles, Angela Partington - 1160 pages, or the The Book of Positive Quotations - John Cook, Steve Deger, Leslie Ann Gibson - 772 pages. You might also be able to find in the library The Yale Book of Quotations - Fred R Shapiro, Joseph Epstein - 1116 pages which is an authoritive collection of modern American quotes. Happy hunting!
